Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Please save the date for an extraordinary event in San Francisco the evening of April 17.

Morley Winograd will be discussing his work on the Millennial Generation and the prospect that this rising generation will play a central role in a political realignment that may be one of the most important events in the history of America.

As you know, I have been working for several years on program development for Institute for Democratic Realignment and have made numerous presentations on the historical moment and prospects for a realignment election and a new governing consensus.

Morley Winograd is Director of the Center for Telecommunications Management at the University of Southern California. During the 1990s, Morley was a founder of the California Democratic Leadership Council, a founder of the Institute for the New California, author of Taking Control: Politics in the Information Age, Director of the National Partnership for Reinventing Government, and Senior Policy Advisor to President Clinton and Vice President Gore. In these roles he was a pioneer in exploring the relationship between technology and new political constituencies. His accomplishments included the first clear picture of the "wired workers," numerous policy initiatives, and firstgov.gov, the official web portal for the federal government.

During this time, Morley and I discovered that we had complementary perspectives on many aspects of politics and public policy. I had the privilege of working with him on several projects, including the planning and writing of Taking Control.

I was recently surprised to learn that Morley has also been working on realignment for the last few years. Although Morley emphasizes different drivers of realignment than the drivers emphasized in my seminars, our models are complementary.

With his long time collaborator Michael Hais, Morley has written Millennial Makeover: MySpace, YouTube, and the Future of American Politics. Millennial Makeover is a remarkable story. It explains the character of the Millennial Generation, its adoption of social media like MySpace, and the prospect that it will play an important role in our next political realignment.

The event will be hosted by New Democrat Network at the San Francisco Fairmont the evening of April 17. The event will start at 6:00 PM and end at 8:00 PM. An after party will be held at a location to be announced.

Please mark your calendar now for this very exciting event. There is no charge and space will be limited.

NDN will be asking all attendees to register in advance to reserve a space at the event and will establish a web page for online registration.

Please send a reply message now if you would like me to let you know when online registration is available.

I look forward to seeing you at this event.

Kindest regards,

Drexel
