Join author Joyce Mendelsohn on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 12:00pm for a presentation and reading from her popular new book, The Lower East Side Remembered and Revisited, part of the Lower East Side History Project lecture series at the Bowery Poetry Club, 308 Bowery, NY NY 10012. Reservations are not required and there is a $6 minimum donation suggested. Books will also be available for sale and signing.

Explore New York's legendary Lower East Side, a unique place in the hearts of millions of American families because it was here that their immigrant ancestors made their first homes in this country and took their first steps on the road to freedom and success.

Joyce Mendelsohn is an educator, historian, published author and tour guide. Mendelsohn developed the tour leader training program for the Lower East Side Jewish Conservancy and served as the first Director of Education at the Lower East Side Tenement Museum.

The Lower East Side History Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to researching, documenting and preserving the history of the greater Lower East Side of New York City.
