Inspired by their mentor Django Reinhardt, The Lost Fingers unite their unique voices to create an ingenious tribute to the 80’s in the style of ‘jazz manouche’, a hommage to great French Chart toppers, along with standards of the gypsy jazz repertoire. With a keen sense of humor and great musicianship, The Lost Fingers’ shows have become a must see attraction across the world, their irresistible sound and style crossing borders.

About the Group

Jazz trio The Lost Fingers named themselves after Reinhardt's injured fingers. In 1928, at the young age of 18, the Belgian-born ‘manouche’ gypsy guitarist, Django Reinhardt accidentally suffered from a horrific caravan fire that resulted in the loss of use of both the 3rd and 4th fingers of his left hand. In spite of the accident, Reinhardt was able to overcome his debilitating handicap to become one of the world’s most influential jazz guitarists and enigmatic musicians of all time.
This acoustic trio based in Quebec city has played in three international music festivals (including ten nights at the Montreal International Jazz Festival), as well as playing live on several television and radio shows.
Upon meeting at the Quebec Conservatory of Music in 1994, Byron Mikaloff (guitar) and Christian Roberge (lead vocals and guitar), became friends and quickly collaborate on several music projects. They founded The Lost Fingers in 2004. In an attempt to further develop and continuously innovate, they summoned the young and talented Alex Morissette (bassist) in 2006 to “jazz up their swing”.
