ATLANTA -- There will be stars in the sky, stars on the Macy’s Great Tree and an all-star lineup this Thanksgiving at the Lighting of Macy’s Great Tree presented by Lenox Square Thanksgiving Night, Thursday November 22, 2007.

Star-gazers will see Big & Rich, Emmy Rossum, Take 6, dancers from the hit show Dancing with the Stars and the event’s guest co-host Entertainment Tonight’s Jann Carl.

These stars will shine on the Air Tran Airways Stage and the Macy’ Star Stage! The staging has been re-vamped, enlarged and brought out into the parking lot allowing everyone better views of the action. The jumbo-tron screens on each side of the stage will give even those in the back rows a front-row view.

There’s something for everyone this year, this year’s talent line up includes:

Big & Rich- Their unique mixing of traditional country sounds with hip-hop, rock, and the occasional Native American yell, makes this dynamic duo, “Big Kenny” Alphin and John Rich, Big and Rich and FUN! As co-creators of Nashville’s Muzik Mafia, Big & Rich took what was their informal jam session into a Tuesday night mainstay creating a stable of talent ultimately launching several of the participants like Gretchen Wilson onto radio, the charts and concert stages.

Emmy Rossum- With a Golden Globe nomination for her performance as Christine in the film version of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera and major roles in the big-budget Hollywood motion pictures Mystic River, The Day After Tomorrow and Poseidon, Rossum has made her name as an actress, but her first love has always been music. By the age of seven, she was singing with the Metropolitan Opera, performing in more than 20 separate productions in six different languages at Lincoln Center alongside icons such as Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti.

Take 6– Multi-Grammy and Dove award winning Take 6 is 3 parts Gospel + 1 part Jazz, +1 dash of Pop +1 touch of R&B = 6 parts of soulful harmony. Take 6 consists of members: Alvin Chea, Cedric Dent, Claude McKnight, David Thomas, Joel Kibble and Mark Kibble. Performing together for more than 20 years, they have won Downbeat magazine’s reader’s poll for “Favorite Jazz Vocal Group” for 9 consecutive years.

Katie Lawhorne– Katie Lawhorne has been singing since she was three years old. This 12 year-old loves to entertain! Upon completing a three original song demo, Katie signed a production contract with Peter Amato and Belgravia Music Inc. Amato previously worked with Country Star Leann Rimes. Katie’s star is definitely on the rise; she is in the top 50 in the country for Country artists played on MYSPACE.

A Special Appearance from Dancing with the Stars– Stars can twinkle, shine bright and even shoot across a nighttime sky. But did you know that stars can also dance? The phenomenally popular primetime TV show, “Dancing with the Stars” pairs professional dancers with celebrities in a spirited competition affirming that some stars can dance. (featured dancers to be announced)

Macy’s All-Star Holiday Choir – For many choir members the Lighting of Macy’s Great Tree has become part of their family’s Thanksgiving Day rituals. This event brings together siblings, couples and multi-generations of families singing and sharing their favorite holiday songs.
