3:00 – 4:00 pm: Performance
4:00 – 5:00 pm: Post-Performance Reception at Southern Exposure, 2901 Mission at 25th
Mixing real life and theater in the Mission District of San Francisco, Lee Walton will orchestrate a performance involving over 25 actors and countless unknowing participants. For the duration of one hour, these carefully selected actors will seamlessly blur themselves with the real characters of the Mission District only to reveal themselves at the reception at Southern Exposure following the performance. For the designated hour, spectators stroll the surrounding streets of Southern Exposure in search of what is "real" and what is "not real". Meanwhile, the hired actors play out simple activities- such as sipping coffee in a cafe' window, awkwardly carrying a houseplant, chuckling to oneself, jogging, or perhaps zipping up a sweatshirt.
