WHAT:
On Saturday, February 11th, 2006, approximately
400 New York City professionals will convene at
The Down Town Association from 8PM until 12AM
to try their luck at the casino gaming tables for a chance to win fabulous prizes, and more importantly, to raise money for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkins disease and myeloma research. Ticket packages for the Black Tie & Blackjack gala begin at $150 and include playing chips, an open bar, lavish cocktail buffet, dancing all night long, Texas Hold 'Em poker, roulette and a chance to win fabulous prizes.

WHY:
More than 747,000 Americans are currently living
with blood-related cancer. Every five minutes,
another person living in the United States is
diagnosed with a blood cancer; every nine minutes, someone dies from one. Research, however, is making a tremendous difference. In 1960, only 4% of children with the most common form of leukemia survived; today, 85% do.
