The Leading Edge of Clean Technology
Greening the Automotive Industry with Biocomposite Materials:
Alberta Leads the Way from R&D to Application

The Calgary Council for Advanced Technology is presenting an exciting and informative breakfast event featuring presentations by Dr. John Wolodko, Program Leader for the Alberta Research Council’s (ARC) Polymer and Composites Group and Nathan Armstrong, President of Motive Industries.
Bio-composite materials promise to bring stronger, greener products to a wide range of industries, but what exactly are these materials? What makes them so strong? What makes them so green? Who is really going to use them?
Dr. Wolodko’s group at ARC is leading some of the most advanced research and development being done in this area. With a recent investment of $15M, the Alberta Biomaterials Development Centre is positioned to keep Alberta at the forefront of this exciting industry for years to come.
Calgary’s Motive Industries is applying this research to solve one of the biggest challenges we have in the 21st Century: How do we Green the Automotive Industry? With experience designing and engineering vehicles for names like Chrysler, Hyundai, Kia, Suzuki, and Toyota, Nathan Armstrong understands the needs of this industry and how biocomposite materials are a game-changing technology.
Come out to hear these speakers share their leading-edge knowledge on this new, exciting industry. This event is put on in partnership with the Alberta Research Council.
