The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando will debut the 2009 Latin Food and Wine Festival Oct. 1-3. The three-day festival features a schedule of events that highlights the cuisine, culture and entertainment of Spanish-speaking countries across the globe. Oct.1, the program will kick off with "An Evening in Spain," a trip to Barcelona, Madrid and the many other Spanish cities that have inspired Latin cuisine. An Evening in Spain will unfold on the enchanting rooftop of The Plaza in downtown Orlando and will feature delectable dishes, the finest wines and superb entertainment. Tickets are limited to 250.
Oct. 2 at the Roast & Runway at The Red Coconut Club at Universal's CityWalk. Outrageous fun awaits at this traditional pig roast during which couture will meet the rustic roots of Latin culture. Gastronomic delights and themed beverages will instantly transport guests to the Caribbean. Roast & Runway will combine tradition with fashion and showcase top designers in this unique venue. A silent auction will feature original art, jewelry and amazing getaways. Guests will also be treated to exclusive entertainment provided by award-winning pianist Adlan Cruz.
The Latin Food and Wine Festival is a proud partner of theOrlando Fashion Week, which will bring one of the most acclaimed fashion designers of Puerto Rico, Carlos Alberto (official designer for Miss Universe 2009 and designer for former winners of Miss Puerto Rico and Miss USA), to showcase his haute couture gowns at Roast & Runway.
Oct. 3, the Latin Food and Wine Festival 2009 will culminate with a Grand Tasting on the grounds of the Mediterranean-inspired Dellagio on Sand Lake Road. Attendees will indulge in the succulent flavors of Latin cuisine and beverages while enjoying some of the finest Hispanic entertainment. Guests will interact with renowned chefs, includingChef Guillermo Pernot (two-time James Beard Award winner and past Esquire Man of the Year),Jen Isham (2009 Cheftestant of The Next Food Network Star),Chef Jeff McInnis (Finalist on Bravo's Top Chef) and many others who will demonstrate some of their best dishes and culinary skills.
