The Knitters

In the early '80s, the seminal Los Angeles punk band X decided to have a little fun with country music as a side project, and the Knitters were born. The band was meant to be nothing more than a diversion. But as a leader in L.A.'s burgeoning "cowpunk" scene, the Knitters became one of a number of inspired groups that foresaw the alternative-country surge that followed in the '90s.
