"One of the best-blended,most sensitive and intelligent piano trios in the world today"
(The New York Times)

One of the few chamber ensembles with all original members, the Kalichstein-Laredo Robinson Trio is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary this season, joining PCMS at the Perelman Theater on Tuesday, May 12. Joseph Kalichstein (piano), Jaime Laredo (violin), and Sharon Robinson (cello) made their debut at the White House for President Carter's inaugeration in 1977 - since then the trio has set the standard for performance, garnering widespread praise for their "expressive and exhilarating interpretations" (Musical America).
Additionally, Musical America named the group Ensemble of the Year for 2002, and more recently the trio received the first annual Samuel Sanders Collaborative Artists Award from the Foundation for Recorded Music.

Accompanying the Trio are Ricardo Morales (clarinet) and Radovan Vlatkovic (horn). Morales, who began studies at the Escuela Libra de Musica in his native Puerto Rico, launched his professional career as principal clarinet of the Florida Orchestra, continuing on as the appointed principal clarinet of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra at the age of twenty-one. Praised as having "natural musical grace" by the New York Times, Morales currently holds the principal clarinet position in the Philadelphia Orchestra, and serves on the faculties of the Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, Mannes College and, during the summer, the Verbier Academy in Switzerland.

Radovan Vlatkovic, hailed as "one of the most acclaimed horn players of his generation" (La Verdi), received his first horn lesson at the age of six during a two-year stay in the United States. As a soloist, Mr. Vlatkovic has performed across Europe, North America, Israel, East Africa, Japan, and Australia, playing with the Radio Symphony Orchestra of Berlin, the Bavarian Radio Philharmonic, the BBC Symphony Orchestra London, the English Chamber Orchestra, the Academy of Saint Martin in the Fields, the Camerata Academica des Mozarteums, the Yomiuri Symphony Orchestra, the Tokyo Metropolitan Orchestra, and the NHK Symphony Orchestra.
