Hailing from Murfreesboro, TN, they excel in a live setting and pride themselves on originality. Their influences are quite diverse (Pink Floyd, Rush, Frank Zappa, Steely Dan, The Grateful Dead) and it can be very difficult for the average music listener to pinpoint The Incredible Heat Machine’s sound. Some may say that acts performing in the land of genre ambiguity will struggle to reach a core audience. These guys disagree. The genre they’re going for is good music. Whether it be rock, jazz, experimental, new age, or anything else, fans of this group will testify to the fact that as long as the music gets them out of their seats and onto the dance floor, no specification is necessary.
