The Idea of North November 10, 2007

The Idea of North is an exceptional ensemble described by James Morrison as “the best a cappella group in the country”. They will be revealing their exceptional vocal talent at Riverside Theatres on Sunday November 11 at 3pm.

Having won the 2003 Harmony Sweepstakes, the largest international open a cappella competition in the world, they have cemented their status as a world class ensemble. The superb musicianship and outstanding arrangements embracing jazz, soul and gospel music, together with an amazing variety of award-winning originals, traditional and contemporary songs, have marked the group as an act not to be missed.

The Idea of North has been nominated for three Mo awards for live music performance, and has appeared with some of Australia’s greatest jazz musicians, including James Morrison and Don Burrows, and in concert alongside a number of international artists, including The New York Voices and The Real Group. It tours widely across the United States, Europe, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand and other Asian and Middle Eastern destinations.
