The Homecoming March 26, 2011

This play is based on the book by Earl Hamner, Jr. 'The Homecoming: A Novel About Spencer's Mountain' (1970). Hamner grew up in depression-era Schuyler, Virginia, and used his life as the inspiration for many of his works. His book 'Spencer's Mountain' (1961) was the basis for the television series 'The Waltons,' which Hamner created after finding sucess as a television writer and producer.
