The Heroes of Comedy returs with 'Start Trekkin'' -- a fully improvised parody of the classic 1960s sci-fi series 'Star Trek.' Seven to 10 improvisers will take the stage in full Federation uniform, based on audience suggestions, and create an entirely original "episode" set in the 'Star Trek' universe. Expect melodramatic acting, pointy sideburns, aliens in bad wigs, paper mache rocks and transparent social commentary. But don't expect James T. Kirk or the USS Enterprise; this is a different ship and a new captain every week. The Heroes of Comedy is the resident improv comedy troupe at The Hideout Theatre in downtown Austin. Its improv is based on the work of Canadian improv guru Keith Johnstone, who invented Theatresports to make theatre as exciting as a sporting event.
