The power of Mount Ragged dominates the world of Daniel Gartrell, our most famous bush poet, who rots in a house covered with dark secrets. Hiding out in suburban Perth, suppressing a cursed past with brandy, Daniel is ready to implode.
Craig, a young actor, has won the role of Daniel in a film about the bush poet’s life. When Craig finds Daniel he thinks he’s found a path to fame but Daniel dances Craig through a psychological minefield. As Craig uses Daniel’s daughter, Sarah, to pursue the key to Daniel’s past, the past uses Sarah to ensnare Craig.

This new Australian play, from multi-award winning playwright Reg Cribb, is the gripping gothic tale of a land that will consume. The land owns those who work it and punishes those who take without permission.
