The Harvey Girls and the Santa Fe Railway: Myth, Legend & History September 24, 2007

Separate fact from fiction during this informative talk by Lesley Poling-Kempes. Fred Harvey and the Santa Fe Railway brought visitors to the Southwest by enticing them with legends and the beauty of the land. They also influenced the art and architecture of the area. The New Mexico Humanities Council also sponsors this program.

Lesley Poling-Kempes is from Abiquiu. She has written histories of Abiquiu and the Harvey Girls. Her Canyon of Remembering is a fictional work.
