The Harmsen Collection: A Colorado Legacy December 10, 2005

In June 2001, Bill and Dorothy Harmsen donated the Harmsen Art Collection to the Denver Art Museum. Long-time Colorado residents and founders of the Jolly Rancher Candy Company, the Harmsens amassed more than 3,000 pieces of western and American Indian art during 40 years of collecting. This exhibition presents a selection of the Collection's 750 paintings, including works by George Catlin, Charles Bird King, N.C. Wyeth, Robert Henri and others.
