The Happy Prince is the beautiful and universal tale of The Prince and The Little Swallow. The story is as fresh and relevant now as when it was written. A classic story about love and giving, it is filled with tenderness, compassion and gentle humour.
This widely-acclaimed production by Theatre of Image is brought vividly to life by a combination of outstanding multi-skilled actors and a myriad of styles of puppetry from rod to shadow to marionettes and striking visual illusions.
“The Happy Prince is our signature production and returns to mark the 20th anniversary of Theatre of Image, Sydney's Theatre for Children,” said Artistic Director Kim Carpenter. “The Happy Prince is testament to the universal appeal of Wilde’s compelling story – it moves audiences of all ages. The story of The Happy Prince is told through drama, music and puppetry.
