Great Unknowns frontwoman Becky Warren wasn’t thinking too much about the Iraq War when the alt-country band recorded its first album in 2003. But by the time the band signed with Daemon Records and began touring with the Indigo Girls in early 2005, the war had profoundly affected her life. The band’s upcoming sophomore album, Homefront, tells that story, so it makes sense that, in the run-up to the album’s release, The Great Unknowns are headlining a show at Rock N Roll Hotel in DC to show support for military veterans. All the money the band raises at the show on Friday September 30th will go to Cause, whose programs reach thousands of wounded warriors annually. Veterans who attend will receive thank you gifts from the band.
