The Goo Goo Dolls in concert at Penn State Behrend April 17, 2010

Tickets for the Goo Goo Dolls’ April concert at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, go on sale beginning Monday, March 8.

The multiplatinum-selling band will perform at Penn State Behrend’s Junker Center on Saturday, April 17. The concert begins at 8 p.m.; an opening band will be announced at a later date.

Originally from Buffalo, N.Y., the Goo Goo Dolls have had an unprecedented string of 14 consecutive Number One and Top Ten hit singles, including “Name,” “Slide,” Black Balloon,” Broadway,” “Here Is Gone,” “Big Machine,” “Sympathy,” “Stay With You,” “Before It’s Too Late,” “Jim’s Theme” (Treasure Planet),” and “Better Days,” which, due to its uplifting lyrics, was adopted by CNN as an anthem for the network’s Hurricane Katrina coverage. “Iris,” from the City Of Angels movie soundtrack, spent nearly 12 months on the Billboard charts and held the Number One position for 18 consecutive weeks.

The band’s 12th album, Something for the Rest of Us, will be released later this spring.

Tickets for the Goo Goo Dolls’ Junker Center performance cost $20 for Penn State Behrend students, $25 in advance, and $30 at the door, if available. All tickets are general admission seating.

Beginning at 8 a.m. on March 8, tickets may be purchased one of three ways: in person at the Reed Union Building desk located in 27 Reed, over the phone with a credit card, or online. Phone orders can be placed with the Office of Student Activities at 814-898-6171. Secure online orders will be taken at https://estore.psu.edu/home.asp?store=100059; a $2 shipping and handling fee will be added to each ticket purchased online.

The $20 discounted tickets for Penn State Behrend students are available only at the RUB desk, and no more than two tickets may be purchased per student ID.
