This Public Forum addresses morality in public policy

The Interfaith Alliance of Colorado's next public policy forum, "The
Golden Rule in Public Policy," will take place from 6-8 p.m. Thurs., April
28 at Cameron United Methodist Church, 1600 S. Pearl St. in Denver. A
reception with refresments will begin at 6 p.m. and the program will start at 6:30 p.m.

The forum will focus on the influence moral values, such as those
expressed in the Golden Rule, have or should have on public policy. Does a focus on moral values in any sense violate our time-honored tradition, expressed in the First Amendment to our Constitution, of the separation of church and state? Decisions made in our legislature do not occur in a vacuum. How do these values, even if not explicitly expressed, conflict with or support those expressed in the Golden Rule?

The moderator will be the Rev. Dr. Jim Laurie, President, Interfaith
Alliance of Colorado.
Panelists include: Tony Gagliardi, Colorado State
Director, National Federation of Independent Business;
Dr. Gordon Gamm, Chair, Boulder International Humanist Institute; Anne McGihon, Lawyer and former member of the Colorado House of Representatives; and the Rev. Mike Morran, Minister, First Unitarian Society of Denver.

The event is free and open to the public. All are welcome. For more
information, call 720.524.1100.
