Want to learn what Green building really means, and how you might do some greening up in your life? These folks are at the cutting edge and can share many insights. All tour presenters today are the founders and/or sponsors of the Redwood Empire Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council. We?ll meet in Sebastopol with George Beeler, architect of the beyond Green SSU Environmental Technology Center to tour a newly remodeled 1800 sq. ft. home that George designed with 100% renewable energy efficiency. This house has many sustainable features that will fill you with awe and delight!



For a taste of commercial Greening and to see more of George?s work, we?ll visit the Environmental Technology Center at SSU, where Armando Navarro, teacher & Assistant Director of the ETC, will share his wealth of knowledge about this supremely Green building. Design features include solar, passive solar, rammed earth, energy demand reductions, cleaner air and water, improved indoor air quality, and more!

We close this glorious day with Bruce Hammond of Hammond Fine Homes. As Chair of the Redwood Empire Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council, Bruce has extensive knowledge about sustainable design. We tour this exquisitely crafted home that began by honoring the first Permaculture principle, observation. The many Green features of this home include a smaller footprint than neighboring homes, radiant floor heating, instant hot water, reclaimed wood products, solar, passive solar, and sooo much else.
