The Glenn Mohr Chorale presents “Deep River”

--A Dramatic production of Songs from America’s Heart--

On Saturday, November 8 at 7:30 p.m., The Glenn Mohr Chorale will present “Deep River” – a spiritual musical performance that will trace the history and the stories of the people who wrote America’s classical hymns. The performance will include a collection of favorites such as Amazing Grace, Softly & Tenderly and The Battle Hymn of the Republic.

This dramatic musical production will lead the audience through the lives of Will Thompson, “the millionaire song writer,” John Newton, the writer of Amazing Grace whose life was changed by a storm at sea, and Julia Ward Howe, who wrote one of the most stirring of all-American songs—The Battle Hymn of the Republic.

“Deep River” is written and produced by Glenn Mohr in collaboration with Frances McNamara and performed by The Glenn Mohr Chorale. The chorale is a spiritually motivated group of talented actors and musicians. The production is free to attend and will take place at St. Ephrem, located at 929 Bay Ridge Pkwy in Brooklyn. Donations are greatly appreciated. For more information, visit www.glennmohrchorale.com or call 516-488-0600.
