The Gavilan College Art Gallery is Proud to Present: The Paintings of Leslie Batty & Peter Janzen March 11, 2010

What: Inspired by memories of sewing with the women in her family, Leslie Batty’s work explores “the ways in which cultural systems seek to construct our ideas of identity and sexuality, addressing the ironies of how we create / invent ourselves within the context of our society, history, and culture.”
Peter Janzen’s work “investigates the mysterious qualities of light and space in mid century modern interiors.” He is “concerned with themes of absence and displacement within the individual, culture and society and feels interior spaces of the era convey this.”
Dates of Exhibit: March 8, 2010 through March 19, 2010
When: Please join the artists for a reception on March 12th from 1pm - 3pm in the Gavilan Fine Arts Gallery.
