On Tuesday, January 4, The G2 Gallery will present the iLCP’s RAVE: Retrospective, featuring work by 18 of the world’s most highly regarded nature and wildlife photographers.

The International League of Conservation Photographers (iLCP) conducts photographic expeditions to endangered ecosystems to visually document threatened flora and fauna. These trips have been dubbed Rapid Assessment Visual Expeditions, or RAVEs. Working with local groups, the aim is to create awareness of the dangers facing these areas and persuade policy-makers and the public at large of the need to take action to preserve them. The Retrsopective takes into account the work accomplished since the first RAVE took place at El Triunfo, Mexico, in 2007.

iLCP RAVE: Retrospective is a traveling exhibit and for its debut at The G2 Gallery will unveil never before seen images from the two most recent RAVEs: Sacred Headwaters RAVE and Great Bear RAVE, both in British Columbia, Canada. In addition to these, eight other RAVES will be featured:

El Triunfo, Mexico
Balandra, Mexico
Bioko, Equatorial Guinea
Yucatan, Mexico
Borderlands, United States/Mexico
Patagonia, Chile
Flathead, British Columbia, Canada
Chesapeake Bay, United States
In total, 18 photographers will be featured in the Retrospective including Jack Dykinga, Garth Lenz, Brian Skerry, and Paul Nicklen.

All proceeds from art sales during the this exhibit will benefit the work of the International League of Conservation Photographers. A closing reception will be held on Saturday, February 12, 6:30–9:00 pm.
