What are the global health implications of bioengineering and the use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in crop production? Will market forces determine our choices of what we eat? Are we moving toward a day when control of the world?s food supply will be in the hands of a few multinational corporations? These somber but very real questions are at the heart of The Future of Food, this month?s Conscientious Projector selection, a Lily Films documentary written, directed and produced by Deborah Koons Garcia. Maggie Haase, Director of the Center for Food and Justice at Occidental College, will join facilitator Patty Oertel in a community discussion on food safety, sustainable agriculture and other crucial issues raised by this thought-provoking investigative film.

The series is presented by All Saints Church?s Sustainable World Ministry, The Theatre of the Oppressed and Light Bringer Project. Slow Food of Pasadena is a co-sponsor of this evening?s program. Admission is free. For more information, contact Marty Coleman at 626.792.4941 or visit the film?s website at
