Like its Chicago contemporary Naked Raygun, Boston’s The Freeze was an anomaly in the ’80s hardcore scene—a melodic, mid-tempo band whose angry anthems were backed by solid, indelible songwriting. The Freeze still knows how to rock onstage—as proven by the greatest-hits-plus-live-DVD package 28 Years Of Defiance—and even has a new studio album in the works.
