Oklahoma's Flaming Lips have fashioned off-kilter, yet strangely beautiful, pop songs for years. With Wayne M. Coyne, Michael Ivins and Steven G. Drozd, the band have released twelve albums since 1985. Their latest is 'At War with the Mystics.' Based in Pittsburgh, Black Moth Super Rainbow has been around since 2002 and features an all analog sound, something like happy fuzzy pop and extremely psychedelic Krautrock. The songs are written from a folk perspective so the music never feels overly electronic and never sterile.
