The Flaming Dames in Talk Dirty to Me 2007 April 27, 2007

New Millennium Theatre Company’s (NMTC) “The Flaming Dames”, currently performing their latest production, “Talk Dirty to Me”, are wowing audiences in Chicago with their big hair, big attitude, and amazing dance moves. The Dames are performing Fridays at 10:30 at the Spot Chicago, 4437 N. Broadway in Chicago through May 25.

As part of one of the most successful burlesque troupes in Chicago, the Flaming Dames are the perfect synergy of Pop Culture humor and the art of the burlesque. Writer/Director Leslie Kerrigan has taken the sensuality and elegance of the classic burlesque movement and combined it with the best of 80’s glam rock: big hair, big attitude and lots and lots of Rock N Roll. The result is an hour long rock and roll extravaganza unlike anything you’ve ever seen. Your favorite hair rock classics are brought to eye popping life with Kerrigan’s intense choreography, executed by some of the most talented and beautiful dancers to grace the stage at the Spot.

In keeping with NMTC’s commitment to pop-culture based theatre, the Flaming Dames have gained citywide attention as being at the cutting edge of the burlesque movement. Creator Leslie Kerrigan says, “Burlesque is an art form that can be applied to any type of music. Its beauty is in its sensuality. Its raw sex appeal. We just took a style of music we loved and grew up with, and put the classic elements of burlesque to it.” The Dames, in addition to their limited engagement at the Spot Chicago, will be MC’ing CrueFest Chicago, a Motly Crue sponsored charity event taking place in late April. The Flaming Dames franchise has gained notoriety all over the city, including private corporate performances and charity events. The Flaming Dames franchise has quickly become synonymous with Burlesque in Chicago.
