The Fifth Floor
To mark the end of Liverpool's year as European Capital of Culture, we present a ground-breaking exhibition of contemporary art. We asked one thousand people across the city what kind of exhibition they would like to experience, and leading international artists have created major new works responding to their ideas.

The gallery has been transformed into a space for encounter and collaboration, imagination, invention and a celebration of ideas that takes you on a journey to another level, beyond the gallery walls.

The exhibition presents humorous and thoughtful works in a range of media including video, photography, sculpture and drawing. Dan Perjovschi scrawls cartoons on the gallery walls and invites you to do the same, and Nina Edge invites you to play a Regeneration Game. Other artists featured include Rineke Dijkstra, Tino Sehgal and Paul Rooney, and an exciting programme of music and performances accompanies the show. Further information will be provided soon.

The Fifth Floor refers to a floor that does not physically exist within Tate Liverpool’s four-storey building, but invites the visitor to reconsider the Gallery as a place of imagination and invention.
