The Festival of Lights Family Hanukkah Celebration December 7, 2008

The Festival of Lights, a family Hanukkah celebration with music, crafts, an arts fair, food and a holiday concert featuring Kitka!

The Osher Marin JCC invites the community to The Festival of Lights, a family Hanukkah Celebration, December 7, 2008 at 2 pm at the Osher Marin JCC in San Rafael. All are welcome to this free event - whether you celebrate Hanukkah or simply want to learn more about the festival of lights, we invite you to enjoy the afternoon with our Osher Marin JCC community.

It's a fun celebration with something to inspire you! Come shop our premier arts fair featuring 25+ local artists with great seasonal gifts, art, and jewelry.

Delight in spending time in our beautiful art studio making rolled candles and menorahs. Hanukkah food will be available for sampling - traditional latkes (potato pancakes) and sufganiyot (Hanukkah jelly donuts), will make you want more holiday treats! Listen to Klezmer and Holiday music by acclaimed singer Ben Brussell.

The JCC Family Connections area for children three and under will feature Hanukkah crafts, dreidel games, and children's music by Isaac Zones. Families can make applesauce with chef and author Jennifer Carden and then let the children enjoy a special story while parents attend a workshop on ways to create a stress-free holiday! Try the weekly Sundays at the J activities -- games and a bounce house in the gym area.

Come early to see The Buddy Club -- featuring Gary Lapow at 1pm! This Bay Area icon will feature an interactive performance and special Hanukkah songs. This performance is great for the whole family and tickets are available at the door!

Stay after for a concert by Kitka presented by the Kanbar Center. Kitka, a remarkable women's vocal ensemble, will delight the entire family with a treasure-trove of seasonal music from Eastern European, ethnic and spiritual traditions including a sing along - tickets for the Kitka concert are $10 adults/ $5 students & seniors.
