A meetup for Flickr members at one of the Valley's hidden gems-- a farm with an organic garden, a spa retreat, meeting rooms, outdoor patios and lawns, a shop, and restaurants. We will meetup at 7:30 (I'll be there at 7 if anyone wants to come even earlier) to enjoy a photo stroll through the gardens and then go into the Morning Glory Café for breakfast when they open at 8. After eating breakfast, we can continue to explore the lush grounds. Breakfast at the Morning Glory Café will run you about $10-15, but you're free to come along for the photo strolls before and after breakfast if you don't want to spend any money.

Hey, Daniel! Will it just be me, you and Patrick again? ;) I'll plan on going in the hopes that my goal will come to fruition (and I can keep my schedule clear between now and then!).

Heh heh... I think it'll be more than just us! But even if it were just us, that would be okay. =)

Hey Daniel! Thanks for organizing this one. I've been wanting to check out The Farm for a bit AND I need to get back into my photography. Good job on planning so far out -- I need that buffer to see it and to get it on the calendar :) Looking forward to it.

Thanks, Valerie, for RSVP-ing! Look forward to seeing you and Kody there.

Sounds like fun, Daniel!

Aardvark Salad

Looks beautiful. I'm about 90% sure I'll make it.

Okay, so I got really excited to come to this meet up (because it would be my first time!) but then I realized I work that Saturday ugh! But next time I am definitely there!

Just Fab

The farm is a beautiful place to go, shoot and eat. I hope to be there if I am in town.

FYI, I spoke with Wayne Smith, the owner of The Farm at South Mountain, and cleared our little photo safari with him. He is happy to have us there taking photos, and only asks that we respect the tranquil atmosphere the farm affords its guests. So, we're on! :-D

P.S. I just sent out FlickrMail invitations to about 200 people, so if you've landed at this page and you're going, please update your status to "I'm Going" so that if our group exceeds 10 people, we can make a reservation for breakfast and I can call the owner again and forewarn him that a horde of us will be descending upon his little farm. ;-)

Daniel, I can't make it this time, but would like to in the future!

I'll try....

Daniel, thanks for asking. Sounds fun. Sorry, but I can't make it. I have previous obligations.

FYI, you'll have to park and/or walk to the end of the farm (not far, really-- like two or three "blocks") to get to the Morning Glory Cafe. Don't make the mistake of entering the very first restaurant on your right as you enter the farm (that one's called The Farm Kitchen). I found this out when I stopped by yesterday since I happened to be in the neighborhood.

I live in the east valley -- Chandler, specifically -- and would like to ride in with someone, if that is possible. You can respond either here or in the discussion thread on the Flickr group. Thanks!

phil_sidenstricker

I'm going coming in from the Florence area .

gwilmore

Can you swing by to pick me up? I could meet you in front of the Fry's supermarket on the southeast corner of Alma School and Elliot Roads in Chandler. Just specify a time, and I will plan on being there. You can respond either here or in the thread on the Flickr group, and I will check in again in a few hours. Thanks!

Great turnout, folks! Let's tag our photos upcoming:event=981998 so everyone can see what everyone photographed at the event, along with event info, slideshows, and other gadgety goodness.
