The Evergreen State College Presents Transforming the Face of War Art Workshop, November 10 from 2 to 5 p.m.
The Evergreen State College will present an art workshop for veterans, their family members and community members on November 10 from 2 to 5 p.m. Rick Lawson, founder of the War Experience Project (http://www.warep.com), will guide participants as they transform military uniforms and other military items into works of art. The free event will take place at The Evergreen State College Longhouse Education and Cultural Center. Directions to campus are available at http://www.evergreen.edu/tour/gethere

Participants are encouraged to bring their own military clothing. The college will also have limited number of military fatigues on hand for those who want to participate. Along with the on-site art activities, there will be an exhibit entitled The War Experience Project, comprised of art similarly created.
Participants will have the opportunity to donate their art creations and see them displayed the next day (Veterans Day November 11) at the grand opening of The War Experience Project Art Gallery, located at 906 Broadway, in Tacoma, Washington.
