The Essential Lifecasting 1 Day Workshop

Get the key skills required to take a successful lifecast - the fundamental step in creating great prosthetic makeups. This workshop is a fantastic opportunity to watch, learn and then do a lifecast all in one day.

The day will be split into two sessions - session 1 in the morning and session 2 in the afternoon. The workshop runs 0930 til 1700 with an hour lunch break.Session 1 - This will consist of a full head and shoulders lifecast demonstration from start to finish using a live model. During this time you will see how the process is done economically, safely and correctly. Stuart Bray will also discuss good techniques for casting childrens feet and hands etc, as this is something many parents want to do for their young children. We will also look at using lifecasting silicone too, as this newer material has many advantages which will be demonstrated. Session 2 - The class will then work together to lifecast either the face or hand of one another. This will take place under supervision, and everyone will be involved in helping in all aspects.
Everyone will finish the day having been involved in several lifecasts, leading to familiarity with the process. You get to walk away with a plaster copy of whatever it is you had cast.

Lifecasting is a very safe procedure when done correctly. The tutor, Stuart Bray, has done literally hundreds of lifecasts for many TV shows and films including 300, Watchmen, Harry Potter, The Mummy, Shaun of the Dead, Dr Who, Saving Private Ryan and many others. The skills, techniques and professional approach to lifecasting learned over many years will be shown in great depth in this workshop.
