City Salsa Vibe, in association with Strawberry Nights & VanCubanSalsa, welcomes you to The Empire Affair New Years Eve 2010 at the Elegant Empire Landmark Hotel. This amazing venue is right on Robson Street in the heart of downtown (below the revolving restaurant at street level). Come explore each themed party room throughout the night; each with amazing ambiance, views of Robson Street at night and fully licensed bars. This night has everything you could hope for and more!

The Empire Affair New Years Eve 2007 & 2009 events were chosen by CBC National Radio as featured New Years Eve events of the year. A live interview was broadcast across the country which highlighted the wide range of shows as well as the amazing live band "Tanga".

Dance Lessons:
The dance lessons at the beginning of the night are a fun and challenging experience as well as a great way to meet new people. No dance experience or partner required! Dance lessons are from 9pm - 10pm.

Throughout the night choose your favourite beat or switch between party rooms to your heart's desire. With 4 Party rooms playing the best of your favourite Salsa, Cuban Salsa, Reggaeton, Merengue, Bachata, Funky House, Dance beats, Top 40 and Hip Hop - you couldn't ask for more. Entertainment includes 7 DJs, a Samba show, a Belly dance show, a Fire show and Go Go dancers showcasing artists and styles from around the world as well as the LIVE Salsa Band TANGA.

Event Features

Complimentary Dance Lesson - Even if you have never danced before - you are welcome! This class will introduce you to the basics of Salsa, Merengue and Bachata.
For those of you who are a little more experienced, stay for the more challenging Salsa lesson in the second half of this session. This class is complimentary for ticket holders.

TANGA is Vancouver's hottest Latin dance band, bringing the exciting sounds of Salsa Dura and Latin Jazz to audiences across the West Coast.
They will be playing music from their latest CD!

Room 1 - Live Salsa Band: Tanga - This 11 piece Salsa Band adds energy and ambiance to any party. With rhythms new and familiar you'll want to dance, dance, dance your way into 2010!
During intermissions, City Salsa Vibe DJ`s will be playing all your favourite selections of Salsa, Bachata, Merengue and Cha-Cha-Cha.

Room 2 - House with DJ Kash & DJ Sam - they let you chill out and shake it up to Soulful House, Sexy Dance Beats, Progressive House and Funky old school.

Room 3 - DJ Frisk plays all the hotest Hip Hop, Top 40, Dance Hall and Funky beats.

Room 4 - DJ Julio lays down a cool mix of Cuban beats including Reggaeton, Salsaton, Merengue and Bachata where you can get down to the sexy beats.
