City Salsa Vibe in association with Van Cuban Salsa welcome you to The Empire Affair New Years Eve 2011 at the Elegant Empire Landmark Hotel. This amazing venue is right on Robson Street in the heart of downtown (at street level below the revolving restaurant) featuring views of Robson street at night. Come explore each themed party room throughout the night; each with amazing ambiance and fully licensed bars.
This night has everything you could hope for and more!
The large variety of entertainment offers something for everyone and makes it the perfect place to party with a group of friends or to make new ones. This event caters to singles & couples from all ages and backgrounds.

Last year, our Empire Affair New Years Eve 2010 was one of the top events on Club Zone!!! Also, the Empire Affair New Years Eve 2007 & 2009 events were chosen by CBC National Radio as featured New Years Eve events of the year. A live interview was broadcast across the country which highlighted our wide range of shows as well as the amazing live band "Tanga".

This year it will be even BIGGER - come be a part of a legendary event!
Dance Lessons:

The dance lessons at the beginning of the night are a fun and memorable experience as well as a great way to meet new people. No dance experience or partner required! Dance lessons are from 9pm - 10pm.
Featured Entertainment:

Throughout the night, you can switch between party rooms or choose your favourite one to suit your heart's desire. With 4 Party rooms playing the best of your favourite Salsa, Bachata, Cuban Salsa, Reggaeton, Merengue, Brazilian, Caribbean, Funky House, Dance beats, Top 40 and Hip Hop - you couldn't ask for more. Entertainment includes a long lineup of DJs, amazing performances showcasing artists and styles from around the world. Again this year we will be featuring LIVE Salsa music with the popular band TANGA. Also new this year, we have the talented singer/songwriter NessaV who will performing Samba, Hip Hop and Capoeira from her new CD.

Event Features

Complimentary Dance Lesson - Even if you have never danced before - you are welcome! This class will introduce you to the basics of Salsa, Merengue and Bachata.

For those of you, who are a little more experienced, stay for the more challenging Salsa lesson in the second half of this session. This class is complimentary for ticket holders.

TANGA is Vancouver's hottest Latin dance band, They will be playing music from their latest CD! They will also play new and old favourites selections of Salsa, Bachata, Merengue and Cha-Cha-Cha.

NessaV Canadian-born Brazilian raised, Singer, Song writer, Dancer and Performer will be bringing her own music to our stage with her group of dancers.

Performing Live Samba and Capoieira in full authentic costumes.
She also be performing Live Hip Hop with her crew of dancers

House with DJ Sonido Callejero plus Guests - Let you chill out and shake yo' thang to Soulful House, Sexy Dance Beats, Progressive House and Funky old school.
Room 3

DJ Chinito plus Guests will play all the hottest Hip Hop, Top 40, Dance Hall and Funky beats.
Room 4

DJ Julio lays down a cool mix of Cuban, Brazilian, Caribbean beats including Reggaeton, Salsaton, Merengue and Bachata where you can get down to the sexy beats.
SHOWS

Samba Show To Live Music - Ach Brasil Colourful Brazilian Samba dancers shake their way onto our centre stage in full carnival Samba costumes.

The groups lead singer, NessaV will sing and perform to her own Samba music from her new CD.
Salsa Dance Show - Patrick and Scarlet of Dance Vancouver will be performing their fast yet elegant Salsa show. You will enjoy seeing how these two professionals make dancing seem effortless. Be sure not to miss it.
Fire Dance Show - Cole Manson is a fire dancer who performed spinning this staff and flaming sword during the 2010 Olympics and at the base of Whistler Mountain during the winter. This New Years Eve he will be performing his amazing fire show for us. You are sure to be in awe when watching Cole and his famous fire tricks.
