The Elected is a side project of Rilo Kiley's Blake Sennett. The band's recent album is called 'Sun, Sun, Sun.' In spirit and sound, The Elected carry on in the tradition of the so-called California sound, best served by the Beach Boys and Gram Parson among others; where beauty is complicated and nothing can be taken at face value. They trade in the realm of songs that somehow manage to sound simultaneously timeless and like nothing ever heard before. Described as a cacophony of electric and acoustic instruments that sat on top of rock-type rhythms, Margot and the Nuclear So & So's music is filled with stories and observations.
