The Easter Rising Band - Pittsburgh Debut March 10, 2007

The musicians in Easter Rising started up while attending the Roman Catholic seminary The Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, Ohio. Although some members of Easter Rising no longer study for the priesthood, they all remain committed as a band to the purpose of Easter Rising: the fostering of communio for whoever has ears to listen.

The 9-piece Easter Rising Band is comprised of Josh Mincher- Vocals; John Egan- Guitar; Will Egan- Vocals, Mandolin, Fiddle, and sometimes Piano; Al Wolf- Vocals; Eric Wolf- Bass guitar; Gordo- Vocals, Accordion; Jake Willig- Drums; Liam O’Mara- Vocals, Bodhran; Pete Hansen- Vocals, Bodhran; Their influences have been The Pogues, The Chieftains, The Clancy Brothers, The Dubliners, The Turfmen,

Easter Rising has a traditional Irish music sound blended with rock-and-roll, bluegrass and soul music. It is something we have come to term “Folk n’Roll, Irish Soul.”
