It all begins when a die-hard musical theatre fan plays his favorite cast album and the madcap musical literally bursts to life in his living room, telling the rambunctious tale of a pampered Broadway starlet, comic gangsters, zany flappers and a celebrity wedding. Full of delightful songs, terrific dance, and hilarious hijinx, 'The Drowsy Chaperone' is a sparkling, sweet escape that first opened on Broadway in May 2006. The show won the Tony Award for Best Book and Best Score with music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison and book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar.
