The Doula School Birth and Postpartum Doula Training

The Doula School offers comprehensive Birth and Postpartum Doula training and certification The Doula School uses a variety of teaching methods ? classroom training, guest speakers, art, literature, reading, and hands-on activities ? to teach the skills necessary to support new families during the transition from pregnancy to parenthood. You will have time for in-depth investigation of a variety of subjects including: healthy pregnancy, nutrition, the hormonal cycles of pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding, childbirth practices, Midwifery and Medical models of care, relaxation and breath, boundary setting, processing birth and the practical skill for supporting new families.

TDS BIRTH AND POSTPARTUM DOULA TRAINING & CERTIFICATION includes 100 hours of instruction, TDS Resource Binder, and TDS Portfolio. When completing the TDS program you will have gained the academic and practical knowledge necessary to develop a successful Doula practice of your own. As new Doulas you will have the opportunity to network with other birth professionals and to explore the lifestyle of a Doula. The Doula School provides a safe and nurturing environment to learn, grow, design your own practice and will enable you to practice with professionalism and confidence whether you are a new Doula just beginning your career, or an experienced professional expanding her practice.
