We are thrilled to welcome Bonobo back to Los Angeles for a special DJ set. He made his Do LaB debut in 2009 at our first event at the King King. He returns with lush, new music that is sure to set you adrift in genre-fusing rhythms and melodies! Patricio and Idiot Savant are expected to open the night with their unique blend of dance floor mayhem.

* BONOBO *

Over the last couple of years, Bonobo has become one of the premier artists on the Ninja Tune imprint and certainly one of the most listened to, with over 16 million plays recorded on LastFM.

Growing up in the jazz/hip hop/funk/soul scene in the UK, he became an accomplished musician as a teenager, and grew into a highly sought after producer and DJ. His talents continued to develop and he put together a live band to bring his records to life. His combination of superb live shows and studio wizardry led to the creation of his newest album “Black Sands.”

* PATRICIO *

The energy level always rises when Patricio steps up to the crowd. He has been a member of the LABA and one of the most prominent breakbeat DJ’s in the Los Angeles underground music scene. Since 1992, Patricio has been making his way through California music scene, shifting, evolving and fusing styles, drawing influence from a wealth of musical genres and always ready to rattle any dancefloor. He has toured with The Do LaB across the world from Portugal to Japan and rocked Lighting in the Bottle, Coachella and All Points West with them. Patricio is currently brewing some of his own music, working in a project called POISE soon to be released and always ready for new and challenging musical adventures.

* IDIOT SAVANT *

Much like the layer of congealed fat settling on the top of Momʼs Gefilte Fish, Ron Levy and Jesse Wright formed a deliciously disgusting DJ duo known as idiot Savant. The duo devised Pocket Underground in 2004 as an outlet for the Matzoh balls that were rattling around in their chicken broth. Ron has been playing and making music since he was knee-high to a duck and Jesse just does it for the free drink tickets. Both feel equally at home with their alkaline goggles on as they do their Burberry Banana Hammocks. Their music can best be described as organic, psychedelic, sexy and completely Kosher... Glatt Kosher.

* JIM MAHFORD *

Jim Mahfood aka Food One is an illustrator/comic book artist/muralist/live art rocker residing in LA. He is the creator of the art style known as Visual Funk: a hybrid mix of comix art, graffiti, manga, street art, and funk culture. Jim single-handedly introduced Live Art to the American comic book scene.
