The Crucible's Gemology workshop February 16, 2008

Have you learned the critical steps to becoming a jeweler? In this intensive class you will be introduced to gemology, gemstone properties, and instrumentation and testing methods. You will learn how to how to identify different types of gems and stones. We will also discuss synthetics, imitations, treatments, and enhancements. You’ll have the opportunity to learn how to use testing equipment to identify unknown stones. Bring in your favorite jewelry pieces or gems to discuss.
