BRIEF HISTORY ON THE ROCK CLUB – ROCK FOR VETS MUSIC REHAB PROGRAM: The Rock Club – ‘Rock for Vets’ Music Therapy Program began in early 2010 and has proven to be so powerful in such a short time. Benefit concerts are the first vehicle to raise community awareness and funds for the program and will be used the National model. The Rock Club – ‘Rock for Vets’ Music Therapy Program offers hope to Veteran’s returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, OIF to OEF to Vietnam Veterans and beyond who are suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and other conditions.

The Rock Club – ‘Rock for Vets’ Music Therapy Program provides Veteran’s a chance to learn a musical instrument and learn to play or sing as part of a musical group. Groups practice twice a week and as they develop music skills, perform in public at a variety of locations both within the hospital and at community organizations and functions. As one veteran stated “This program gave me a reason to live. I no longer have thoughts of suicide.”
