Our addiction to oil has come at a high cost to our communities and environment at home and abroad. As a nation we are at crossroads we can either continue our addiction with offshore drilling or invest in a future built on clean, safe energy, healthy communities and a vibrant environment. California has a long history of trailblazing the way for environmental and social issues and has opportunity to be a national and international leader in creating a future without offshore drilling.

Cost of Oil: Voices from the Arctic, a movie produced independently by Stone Soup Productions, outlines the effects of offshore oil production on Alaska Native communities. Silence is BetrayalÂ…Voices from a Village, provides a look at how the villagers of Berezovka, Kazakhstan are risking their lives to meet the worlds demand for fossil fuels. Join us for a screening of these independent films and a conversation with leaders in the movement to stop environmentally destructive oil operations and promote clean, safe energy at home and abroad.
