The College of Nursing Oration and Investiture of Members and Fellows November 26, 2009

The College of Nursing’s Annual Oration and Investiture of Members and Fellows dates back more than fifty years, in a proud tradition of celebrating nursing excellence. It is the pinnacle event of the College’s professional calendar and is an opportunity for new members and fellows to celebrate belonging to Australia’s peak professional nursing organisation.

Held in the Great Hall, The University of Sydney.

The orator for 2009 is Adjunct Associate Professor Joy Vickerstaff is a registered nurse and a registered midwife. She has Diplomas in Nursing Education and Nursing Administration, as well as the Degrees of Bachelor of Arts and Master of Cognitive Science. She also holds a graduate qualification in Health Economics. She has held academic appointments with University of Queensland, Griffith University, Queensland University of Technology, and the Australian Catholic University.
Joy undertook her general training at Balmain and her midwifery at St George hospitals in Sydney.
