NEW SHORT FILM SCRIPTS COME TO LIFE:
THE CINECITY COLD READING SERIES
Free Event: Live readings of brand new short film scripts by emerging BC filmmakers.

Vancouver, B.C. – The Cold Reading Series (CRS), Vancouver’s original live script reading event, is proud to partner with Citytv Vancouver’s CineCity: Vancouver’s Stories to present a free, live script reading event on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at the Ironworks Studios. CRS co-producers Sarah Nixey and Lori Triolo will cast actors on the spot to bring to life three new short film scripts by emerging B.C. filmmakers, Kathy Leung & Matt Yoshikazu Gates, Aileen and Camilla Laurel, and Jeffrey Mah.

The CineCity Cold Reading Series is part of Citytv Vancouver’s CineCity: Vancouver Stories initiative, designed to support emerging visible minority and Aboriginal filmmakers through the development and production of short films. February’s CineCity Cold Reading Series event is a unique and exciting opportunity for these filmmakers to hear their scripts brought to life by some of Vancouver’s finest actors in front of a live audience.

Now in its 14th season, the CRS is a staple in Vancouver’s independent film & theatre community, bringing filmmakers and audiences together to share their work and create more. The CineCity Cold Reading Series will be followed by a free reception, drinks and a live DJ – a great opportunity to meet the filmmakers and mingle with the community.
