The Cathedral of St. John the Divine will continue the 2012/13 Great Music in a Great Space concert series with The Great Organ: Great Artists performance featuring Raymond Nagem, one of the leading organists of his generation, on Wednesday, December 5th at 7:30 PM at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, 1047 Amsterdam Avenue (at 112th Street), Manhattan.

Nagem, Associate Organist of the Cathedral and C.V. Starr Doctoral Fellow at The Juilliard School, will perform J. S. Bach’s Prelude and Fugue in A minor; Louis Vierne’s Clair de lune and Toccata; Sigfrid Karg-Elert’s Sonatina in A minor, Op. 74; Felix Mendelssohn’s Sonata in C minor, Op. 65 no. 2; Herbert Howells’ Siciliano for a High Ceremony; and Mr. Nagem’s own Variations on a Villancico, composed in 2012.

Under the leadership of Kent Tritle, Director of Cathedral Music and one of America’s leading organists, Great Music in a Great Space is a series of public concerts at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine inspired by world musical traditions and the Cathedral’s 100-year history of diverse and exhilarating musical events.
