1047 Amsterdam Avenue at 110th St
New York City, New York

Join hundreds of New York’s poetry lovers at the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine, located at 1047 Amsterdam Avenue (at 112th Street) to celebrate the 20th annual reading of Dante’s Inferno on Thursday, March 28th from 9 p.m. to midnight.

Now in its 20th year, this cherished tradition has invited thousands of New Yorkers to descend into Dante Alighieri’s literary hellscape. This year, The Very Reverend Dr. James A. Kowalski, Dean of the Cathedral, along with Cathedral Poet in Residence Marilyn Nelson, Dante translators and other acclaimed poets, will read excerpts from Dante’s classic work during the Maundy Thursday vigil, the very hours Dante intended the events in the epic poem to take place.

The performance is free and open to the public. Donations are appreciated.
