Tim Barsky spins a hip hop retelling of Dante's Inferno, accompanied by some of the best hip hop, jazz and beatbox artists performing in the Bay Area. The Bright River is a dizzying theatrical journey through the underworld - where the dead still pay rent. Guided by a fixer named Quick, The Bright River moves through an intensely real and fantastic landscape in search of a lost soul.

Part Sam Spade, part love story, part socio-political commentary; The Bright River is endlessly entertaining.

The San Francisco Chronicle gave the 2004 production of The Bright River a Clapping Man and called it a "stunning and moving blend of narrative and musical passion."

Come for the show, stay for the scene. One hour prior and after the show, DJs will be spinning in the lobby and light refreshments will be served.
