The Blue Vipers of Brooklyn is a group of musicians that can be found in many forms and many places, from Central Park to Ft. Greene to SOHO. The band has consisted of many members in the past, from banjos to trombones to washboards. They concentrate on material "written anywhere from the 1910s to the 1940s - standard tunes learned from scratchy records and older musicians." Among their influences are Fats Waller, Joe Turner, Louis Armstrong, Willie Dixon, Hank Williams Sr., Les Paul and Mary Ford, Tuba Fats and The Mills Brothers.
